Veneto Club Inc Bulletin March 2021

We have several very exciting upcoming events planned throughout 2021, however we would also like to hear from our Members about the types of events and trips you would like the Club to hold this year and in the coming years. We invite all our Members, of all ages, to share your ideas for new events, and feedback on past events. We are particularly keen to hold events that may encourage your children and grandchildren to attend together with you.  Please contact us by email or have a chat with any of the committee members. We look forward to hearing from you.

There has been some technical issues with our computer and some email addresses have been lost. If you have not been receiving your Bulletin, please email the club at and we will update our records.

The Next Gen Committee is a sub-committee which meets once a month to discuss and organise events to maintain cultural traditions for the Veneto Club's younger generation.  We have previously organised cooking classes, Pasta and Bingo Nights as well as Movie Afternoons. If anyone is interested in joining the Next Gen Committee or has any ideas for possible events, please contact Alessia Basso: 0403 153 962 or Alicia Pastro: 0422437375.
We are so pleased that the trip has sold out and all participants are looking forward to the trip. Well done to our committee member Neil Wonnocot for a great job organising everything. Neil will be leading the group and he will ensure everyone is on time. The group will be advised as to the Bus pick up point shortly.

After a long break we are back in business at the Slovenian Club.  Thankfully we are all in good health to continue the game.  We still feel the sadness about losing some friends, but that is life and we will continue. If there is anyone that wants to join they are more than welcome to come.  Sincere thanks to the Vento club committee for their kind contribution to enable us to finalise our account to the Slovenian Club.  Thank you, Bocce President, Vito Simionato.

Our next event is an Easter picnic which will be held on Easter Monday 5th April, 12 noon, at the Collins Reserve, 88 Valetta Road, Kidman Park. The food will be catered for and includes 2 types of sausages, chicken, fish and calamari, four different salads and continental cakes for dessert. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. If you plan to attend please bring along drinks, chairs and a small table if required. Please note that due to Council restrictions only a limited number of people can attend so book early and before Friday 26th March.

Bookings can be made with Mirella Battilana on 0413 565 010 or Sonia Spandrio on 0438 835 611.

A Mother's Day Lunch is being organised for Sunday 2nd May at the Windsor Hotel. More details to follow in a later bulletin.

The Veneto Club is pleased to be a sponsor for the Veneto Market Gardeners website

The Veneto market gardeners website is an archive of oral history recordings, transcripts of interviews, family photos and other documents that tell the story of 19 veneti who arrived in Adelaide in the late 1920s. Within ten years 16 of the pioneers had become market gardeners in the western suburbs, now Kidman Park and Flinders Park. They continued working the market gardens until the early 1980s. Most pioneer market gardeners and their children were foundation members of the Veneto Club Inc. Adelaide.
